John A. Wilson
John A. Wilson, age 76, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away on Friday, April 13, 2007, in the Uniontown Hospital. He was born on June 14, 1930, in Russell, Kentucky, the son of Augustus Wilson and Margaret (Van Buren) Wilson.
John graduated from Barboursville (West Virginia) High School.
During the Korean War, he served his country in the United States Navy.
John retired from Coal Resources in Philadelphia, Pa., where he was a coal broker for many years.
He was a member of The Lions Club and the Bridge Club.
His parents and sisters, Linda Rigney and Margaret Ward, preceded him in death.
Left to cherish his memory are: his wife of 35 years, Jane F. (Griglak) Wilson; children: John Richard “J. R.” Wilson at home, Paul D. Wilson and his wife, Shelley, of Uniontown, Pa., Karen F. Steinberger and her husband, Jody, of Pittsburgh, Pa., Chris Wilson and his wife, Kim, of Marion, Ohio, Sharon Caldwell and her husband, Mike, of Silverdale, Washington, and Jennifer Trent of Marion, Ohio; grandchildren: Frances Steinberger, Brianna Steinberger, Andrew Manke, Bryan Dunn, Kristen Wilson, Arin Beatty and Adam Beatty; a brother, Robert Wilson and his wife, Wanda, of Orlando, Florida; a sister, Mary Rooke and her husband, Ralph, of Saugus, California; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., 603 North Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown, Pa., on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday, April 17, 2007, until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with the Rev. Michael I. Orsted officiating.
Immediately following the Service, Military Honors will be accorded at the Funeral Home by the General George C. Marshall AMVETS Post 103 of Hopwood, Pa.
Interment will be held privately at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa.
