Richard A. Kantorik
Richard A. Kantorik, age 73, of Smock, Pa., passed away Friday, April 13, 2007, in the Uniontown Hospital, Uniontown, Pa. He was born May 2, 1933, in Mount Pleasant, Pa., the son of Andrew Kantorik and Clara Furlo Kantorik.
“Dick” was a member of Saint John Roman Catholic Church in Perryopolis, Pa., and The Holy Name Society and was also a member of The Knights of Columbus in Perryopolis, American Legion Post 753 in New Salem where he served as Adjutant, the Smock Community Center, and the Smock Historical Society.
He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict who served with the United States Army.
He was a retired employee of the Uniontown Area School District.
“Dick” was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, Elizabeth, and his brother, Edward.
He is survived by his wife, Rita Suich Kantorik; these sons and daughter: Drew Kantorik of Smock, Pa., Donna Jean Bloom and her husband, Benjamin, and DeWaine Watson and his wife, Colleen, all of Uniontown, Pa., and David Watson and his wife, Mary Ellen, of Hampton, Virginia; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; two sisters: Charlotte Frankhouser and her husband, Gerald, of Uniontown, Pa., and Mary Lou Kantorik of New Salem, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the DEARTH FUNERAL HOME, 35 South Mill Street, New Salem, Pa., on Monday, April 16, 2007, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday, April 17, 2007, until 9:45 a.m. when Prayers will be said in the Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 10:30 a.m. in Saint John Roman Catholic Church, Perryopolis, Pa., with the Rev. Father John T. Euker as Celebrant.
Interment at a later date will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery, Smock, Pa.
American Legion Post 753 will conduct Military Rites .
