Ruth Pawlak

Ruth Pawlak, 91, of Hopwood, Pa., beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, died on April 15, 2007. Ruth passed away in Hileman’s Personal Care Home from cancer and was in the loving care of Susan Hileman at the time of her death.

Ruth was born on July 4, 1915, in Elliottsville, Pa., to Sarah and Easter Lake.

She most recently attended the Hopwood Free Methodist Church in Hopwood, Pa.

She is survived by her daughter, Carol Scott of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, her daughter, Barbara Crayton of Boulder City, Nevada; and her daughter-in-law, Sara Pawlak of Farmington, Pa. She is also survived by the following grandchildren: Timothy Pawlak, Jeffrey Pawlak, Cathy Hager, J. Brent Scott, M. Douglas Scott, and Eric Crayton; and the following great-grandchildren: Rachel Hager, Melissa Hager, Nathan Hager, Deanna Hager, Dustin Scott, Tryphtin Scott, Kianna Scott, Riley Scott, and Jonathan Crayton. She is survived by Nora Barclay Dorothy Tuttle, Hilda Raymond; and her half siblings: John Lake, Anna Mae Grashion, and Mary Ellen Owens.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Pawlak, son, Raymond Pawlak, brothers, Wilbur Lake, Earl Lake, sisters, Blanche Conaway, Pearl Michner, Edna Fisher, mother, Sarah Lake, and father, Walter Lake.

The family would like to give special thanks to Susan Hileman for the extraordinary care given to Ruth for the past year and a half.

Also special thanks are given to the members of the Hopwood Free Methodist Church and the Wharton Union Chapel for their prayers and support during the long period of illness.

Friends will be received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME HOPWOOD, on today, April 20, 2007, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Saturday until 11 a.m., the hour of the Service with Rev. Steve Davis officiating.

Interment will follow in the Brown Cemetery, Elliottsville.

In lieu of flowers donation may be made to Hopwood Free Methodist, Farmington Bethel Church of the Brethren or the Wharton Furnace Union Church.

Following interment, a gathering of family and friends will be held in the Wharton Furnace Union Church.
