Olga Irene (Thomas) Harris, 86, of California, Pa., died Saturday, April 21, 2007.

She was born Thursday, April 14, 1921,… Olga Irene (Thomas) Harris, 86, of California, Pa., died Saturday, April 21, 2007.

She was born Thursday, April 14, 1921, in Blainesburg, Pa., a daughter of the late Paul and Julia (Nochta) Thomas.

She was a member of the California United Christian Church. Olga worked as a telephone operator prior to her marriage, and later worked in Edward’s Gift Shop in California. She was also a volunteer for the Women’s Auxiliary in Brownsville General Hospital where she worked in the gift shop.

Olga was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James Elmer Harris on November 3, 1988, four brothers, Paul, James, Frank, and John Thomas, and two sisters, Julia “Jay” Ryska and Margaret “Peg” Wigginton.

Left to cherish her memory are her two children: Robert T. Harris and wife, Mary Jo of California, Pa., Glenda and husband, Ret. USN Capt. Philip Hannaford of Virginia Beach, Va.; three sisters: Emma Simcheck of Gainesville, Fla., Ruth Hutchinson of Phoenix, Ariz., Jean Lowery and husband, E.J., of Phoenix, Ariz.; brother, Alex Thomas and wife, Ann, of Charlotte, N.C.; sisters-in-law: Mary Grace Bartolomei of San Antonio, Texas, and husband, Ret. USAF Lt. Col Frank Bartolomei, and Uliann Thomas of Hutchinson, Kan. Also surviving are five grandchildren: Shane and wife, Basia Hannaford of Richmond, Va., Monica Lynn and husband, USN Commander Ronald Robert VanCourt of Virginia Beach, Va., Christopher Hannaford and wife, Leslie of Powhaten, Va., Elizabeth and husband, USN Ensign Alan David Eggemeyer of Mayport, Fla., Michael James Hannaford of Virginia Beach, Va.; six great-grandchildren: Robbie and Jessica VanCourt, Sara, Alex, Quinton, and Julia Hannaford as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the MARISCOTTI FUNERAL HOME, INC., Anthony N. Mariscotti, Supervisor, 323 Fourth Street, California, Pa., on Thursday, April 26, 2007, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and until 11 a.m., on Friday, when Funeral Services will be held in the Funeral Home.

Interment will follow in the Highland Cemetery.
