Shirley Jo Carr
Shirley Jo Carr, 65, of Point Marion, Pa., (Sprucetown) passed away peacefully Thursday, January 25, 2007, surrounded by her loving family in her home. Born December 24, 1941, in Springhill Township, she was a daughter of the late Hoskin and Helen Louise Sapp Carr.
She was raised a Presbyterian, and formerly attended the Point Marion Apostolic Church. She had previously been employed as a cook for a Fraternity House at West Virginia University, more recently was a cook and caregiver for Hazel Ruby McQuain, and helped for a number of years at the family service station in Point Marion. Shirley loved looking after her grandchildren, and was well known in the area for her delicious baked goods.
She is survived by her husband, Harry Carr, with whom she would have celebrated 48 years of marriage on January 28; six children: Harry G. Carr, Jr., and his fianc?, Tracy Buttermore, Dale E. Carr and wife, Annetta, and Wayne Martin Carr and wife, Luwana, all of Point Marion, Nadine L. Lisauckis and husband, Tim of Lake Lynn, Mark D. Carr of Greene, New York, and David S. Carr and wife, Michelle of Morgantown, W.Va.; thirteen grandchildren: Harry III, Stephany, Chelsi, Kristen, Dakota, Jodie, Beth, Jennifer, Heather, Amber, Ariel, Angelica, Wayne, Jr.; one great-grandson, Ethan; a brother, Robert Carr of Point Marion; and her furry little puppy, CoCo.
Predeceased are her beloved daughter, Donna Sue Carr in 1973, and two brothers, Curtis and Andrew.
Private funeral services were held in the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, Point Marion, with Rev. R. Scott Teets officiating.
Interment was held in the Cedar Grove Cemetery, New Geneva, Pa.
