Robert Hiles
Robert Hiles, 80, of Dunbar, Pa., died Wednesday, January 31, 2007, in Heartland Hospice in Jeanette Hospital. He was born July 22, 1926, in Juniata, a son of the late Marie Franks Hiles.
Bob was a graduate of the former Dunbar Township High School with the Class of 1943.
Prior to his retirement he worked as an Outside Plant Engineer for AT&T. He was a Veteran of World War II having served in the United States Navy in the Pacific Theatre of action.
Bob loved the outdoors and especially liked fishing, hunting and traveling.
In addition to his mother, Bob was predeceased by his wife, Ethel D. Hart Hiles and a brother, Walter Hiles.
Bob will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by his loving family, his children, Charles R. Hiles and his wife Amy of Gardner, Colorado, David R. Hiles and his wife Cheryl of Austin and Wendy Williams and her husband Tim of Vienna, West Virginia; his loving companion Barbara Hart of Dunbar; his grandchildren, Heather Hiles, Amber Williamson, Melissa Paich and Jessica Sanborn; and his great-grandchildren, Summer Broertjes, Kaylee Williamson, Amber and Matthew Sanborn.
Family and friends will be received in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 East Green Street, Connellsville, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Roger Howard officiating.
A committal service and interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill.
