Joseph C. Gentilcore, Jr., 90, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away peacefully on Thursday afternoon, February 1, 2007, in the Lafayette Manor Nursing Home. He was born November 15, 1916, in Uniontown, Pa., the son of the late Joseph Gentilcore, Sr. and Anna Russo Gentilcore.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Patti, brother, Pete Gentilcore and sisters, Rose Burgan and Therese Gentilcore Quarzo.

Joe was a graduate of the Uniontown Area High School Class of 1936. He was a retired agent for the Prudential Insurance Company and co-Owner of Gentilcore’s Grocery and confectionery on Gallatin Avenue for over 50 years. Joe was a devoted member of Saint Therese Roman Catholic Church where he served as an usher, life member of the O.S.I.A. and a member of the Circle Club.

He was also a member of the Brownsville Historical Society, a member of the Kelgins Football Team and of the Hopwood Fitness Center.

Joe is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Theresa Quarzo Gentilcore who he married August 21, 1941; his loving and devoted son, Joseph C. Gentilcore, III and his wife, Colleen of Uniontown; his grandchildren whom he loved and adored, Gina Gentilcore and Joseph C. Gentilcore, IV; and friends and neighbors.

Friends will be received in the KEZMARSKY FUNERAL HOME, 71 Pennsylvania Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., on Monday, February 5, 2007, from 2 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, February 6, 2007, until 9 a.m. when a Blessing Service will be held followed by a 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Saint Therese Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Kenneth G. Zaccagnini, V.F. as Celebrant.

Interment follows in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa.
