Joseph C. Gentilcore Jr.
Joseph C. Gentilcore Jr., age 90, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away peacefully on Thursday afternoon, February 1, 2007, in Lafayette Manor. He was born November 15, 1916, in Uniontown, Pa., the son of Joseph Gentilcore Sr. and Anna Russo Gentilcore.
“Joe” graduated from Uniontown High School Class of 1936.
He was a retired agent from the Prudential Insurance Company and the co-owner of Gentilcore’s Grocery and Confectionery on Gallatin Avenue for over 50 years.
“Joe” was a devoted member of Saint Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church where he served as an usher.
He was also a Life Member of The Order of the Sons of Italy in America (O.S.I.A.) and a member of The Circle Club, the Brownsville Historical Society, the Kelgins Football Team and the Hopwood Fitness Center.
“Joe” was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Patti, brother, Pete Gentilcore, sisters, Rose Burgan and Therese Gentilcore Quarzo, and his parents.
“Joe” is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Theresa Quarzo Gentilcore, whom he married August 21, 1941; his loving and devoted son, Joseph C. Gentilcore III and his wife, Colleen, of Uniontown, Pa.; his grandchildren whom he loved and adored: Gina Gentilcore and Joseph C. Gentilcore IV; and numerous friends and neighbors.
Friends will be received in the KEZMARSKY FUNERAL HOME, 71 Pennsylvania Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., on Monday, February 5, 2007, from 2 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, February 6, 2007, until 9 a.m. when a Blessing Service will be held.
A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 9:30 a.m. in Saint Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church, Mill Street, Uniontown, with the Rev. Father Kenneth G. Zaccagnini, V.F., as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa.

Saint Therese Altar Society will recite the Rosary in the Funeral Home on Monday evening at 7:30 p.m.
