Donald K. Huffman
Donald K. Huffman, of Irwin, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2007. He was born March 4, 1931, in Cameron, W.Va., son of the late Keith H. Huffman and Josephine Shultz Huffman.
Before retiring, Don was employed by Sears, having worked at the Baden, Penn Center, East Liberty and Allegheny Center stores. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during the Korean War. Don was a member of Norwin Elks Lodge 2313, Manor, Pa., and American Legion, S. James Keister Post 359, Irwin, Pa. He also served on the Irwin Borough Council for four years.
He is survived by his wife, Alma Lee Shaffer Huffman; four sons: Richard K. of Wilmerding, Mark D. and wife, Lana of Salisbury, N.C., Jeffrey C. and wife, Lynn of North Huntingdon and Michael L. at home; two daughters: Vanessa D. Connolly and husband, Paul of Cranberry Township and LeeAnne Griffin and husband, Brad of Gloucester, Va.; 11 grandchildren: Brad Connolly, Erin Connolly Mitchell, Heidi Huffman Stogard, Katie Huffman, Mandie Huffman, Mattie Huffman, Casey Huffman, Jacob Huffman, Keith Brady Huffman, Benjamin Griffin and Emily Griffin; and two great-grandchildren: Fiona Mitchell and Philip Dove.
Honoring Don’s wishes there will be no public visitation.
A final committal service will be held at a later date, on Don and Lee’s 55th wedding anniversary, in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
