Betty (Thomas) Boston, 82, of Uniontown, Pa., died peacefully in Mount Saint Macrina with her devoted and loving husband by her side on Wednesday, February 7, 2007. Betty was the daughter of the late William and Lena (Bryant) Thomas who had 14 children to this union.

Betty left the Fayette County area as a young woman and moved to Cleveland, Ohio, where she worked in a factory. It was during her stay there in Cleveland when she met her husband, Marion Boston who was on leave from the United States Army. They were united in marriage in 1957, and would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year.

During her later years in Cleveland, Betty worked for the United Postal Service along with her husband.

Betty and her husband decided to relocate to Uniontown, Fayette County in 1992, to be closer to her family.

Betty is survived by her husband, Marion Boston; two sisters, Mary Lumpkin of Washington, D.C. and Caroline Brown and husband, Tom of Newell, Pa.; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

The viewing services will be held in the MURIEL E. LANTZ FUNERAL HOME, 297 E. Main Street, Uniontown, Pa., on Sunday from 5 to 9 p.m. and on Monday February 12, 2007, until 11 a.m. the hour of Service with Bishop Leonard Tucker officiating.
