Mike Cmos Jr.
Mike Cmos, Jr., 78, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away Thursday evening, February 8, 2007, in the Mount Macrina Nursing Center. He was born May 1, 1928, in Oliver 1, Pa., the son of the late Michael Cmos and Anna Petrisko Cmos.
In addition to his parents, his brothers, Harry Cmos, George Cmos and John Csmos and his sister, Mary Stickles, preceded him in death.
Mike was a member of the Saint John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church where he served as an usher. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II and the Korean War. He was a very proud soldier who took great honor in serving his country. He was active in the military for 30 years, retiring after 22 years of duty. He held the rank of E-7 Sergeant First Class, member of the Constabulary, member of the American Legion Post 51, AMVETS Post 103 Hopwood and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 47.
He was very proud to be a member of the Saint John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church Scripture Class.
Mike is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Kreszentia Luger Cmos; his loving and devoted children: Peggy Braddock and husband, Paul of Holbrook, Pa., and Michael H. Cmos and wife, Anna of Fairchance, Pa.; and his grandson whom he cherished and adored, Christopher Michael Cmos. He is also survived by his sisters: Anna Csmos of Uniontown and Helen Scabis and husband, Joseph of Lanham, Maryland; members of the Luger family in Germany and several loving nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the KEZMARSKY FUNERAL HOME, 71 Pennsylvania Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., on Sunday, February 11, 2007, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday morning, February 12, 2007, from 10 to 11 a.m. when a Blessing Service will be held followed by a 11:30 a.m. Divine Liturgy in Saint John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Thomas J. Wesdock as Celebrant.
Interment follows in Saint John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church Cemetery.
Parastas will be held Sunday at 7 p.m.
Military Honors will be accorded at Graveside.
