Mike “Smokey” Cmos Jr.

Mike “Smokey” Cmos Jr., age 78, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away Thursday evening, February 8, 2007, in the Mount Macrina Nursing Center. He was born May 1, 1928, in Oliver 1, Fayette County, Pa., the son of Michael Cmos and Anna Petrisko Cmos.

Mike was a member of Saint John The Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church where he served as an usher.

He was very proud to be a member of the Saint John The Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church Scripture Class.

He was a veteran of the United States Army who served during World War II and the Korean War. He was a very proud soldier who took great honor in serving his country. He was active in the military for 30 years, retiring after 22 years of duty. He held the rank of E-7 Sergeant First Class.

Mike was a member of The Constabulary, the American Legion Post 51 in Uniontown, the General George C. Marshall AMVETS Post 103 in Hopwood, Pa., and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 47, Uniontown.

He was an avid card player and enjoyed playing the daily number.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Harry Cmos, George Cmos and John Csmos, and his sister, Mary Cmos Stickles.

Mike is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Kreszentia Luger Cmos; his loving and devoted children: Peggy Braddock and her husband, Paul, of Holbrook, Pa., and Michael H. Cmos and his wife, Anna, of Fairchance, Pa.; and his grandson, whom he cherished and adored, Christopher Michael Cmos. He is also survived by his sisters: Anna Csmos of Uniontown, Pa., and Helen Scabis and her husband, Joseph, of Lanham, Maryland; members of the Luger family in Germany; and several loving nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the KEZMARSKY FUNERAL HOME, 71 Pennsylvania Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., today, February 11, 2007, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday morning, February 12, 2007, from 10 until 11 a.m. when a Blessing Service will be held.

Divine Liturgy follows at 11:30 a.m. in Saint John The Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, East Main Street, with the Rev. Father Thomas J. Wesdock as Celebrant.

Interment will follow in Saint John The Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church Cemetery, Hopwood, Pa., where Military Honors will be accorded at graveside.

In addition to flowers, donations may be made to the Albert Gallatin Home Care and Hospice, 20 Highland Park Drive, Uniontown, PA 15401 or to the charity of your choice in Mike’s honor.

American Legion Post 51 will hold services in the Funeral Home today at 2:15 p.m.

Parastas will be held today at 7 p.m.
