‘Love your Heart,’ celebration set”Love your Heart,” a celebration for American Heart Month will be held on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lafayette School on Connellsville Street in Uniontown.
On hand for this “Heart Healthy” Human Service Fair will be local professionals with presentations, screenings and activities to teach people how to love your heart and stay healthy and fit. Those speaking during the event will be Carmen Jenkins, RN, “Be Smart About Your Heart: Control The ABCs of Diabetes,” Maureen Smith, RN “Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention” and Jes Hutson, kinesiology instructor, Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus, “Everyday Tips For A Healthy Heart.”
Games and fitness activities are scheduled for children. Door prizes will also be provided. Planning the event are Carmen Jenkins, Betty Zackal from Fayette County Community Action Agency, Tracey Wrona from East End United Community Center, and Paula Work, principal of Lafayette Elementary School.
