David LeRoy Long
David LeRoy Long, 50, of Fairchance, Pa., died unexpectantly on Tuesday, February 13, 2007, in Fairchance. He was born September 3, 1956, in Portsmouth, Virginia, son of Lt. Commander Joseph Long and E. Jeanette Brownfield Long.
David was predeceased by his father, Lt. Commander Joseph Long, two sisters, Misty Jane Long and Tammy Lynnette Long, his brother, James Russell Long, maternal grandparents, Emily J. Goodwin Brownfield and Merchant C. Brownfield, Sr., paternal grandparents, Thelma Barton Long Milkint and John Milkint, and uncle, Merchant C. Brownfield, Jr.
He received a Bachelors of Science Degree in Petroleum Engineering at West Virginia University and his Masters in Business Administration at California University of Pennsylvania.
David was employed with the United States Postal Service at the General Mail Facility in Pittsburgh, Pa.
He was a member of the Tent Presbyterian Church of Georges Township, which he served as an Elder.
Surviving are his loving mother, E. Jeanette Brownfield Long of Fairchance, Pa.; his brother, Joseph A. Long and wife, Barbara of Connellsville, Pa.; two sisters: Debra A. Long Priel and husband, David M. Priel of Gettysburg, Pa., and Amber S. Long and husband, Ernest J. Quinn of Derry, Pa.; and four nephews: Eric A. Long, Aaron A. Long, Christian J. Priel and Nathaniel I. Priel; aunt, Gloria Kovalic of Fairchance, Pa., and uncle, John Milkint of Florida.
The family will receive friends in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa., on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Additional visitation will be held in the Tent Presbyterian Church, Morgantown Road, Georges Township, on Friday, February 16, 2007, from 1 to 2 p.m. Services begin at 2 p.m., with the Pastor Harry Wilson and the Rev. Andrew Slade officiating.
Interment will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Fairchance, Pa.
