GEORGES TWP. – Georges Township supervisors announced Tuesday that anyone interested in serving on the Georges Creek Municipal Authority should let his or her interest be known to them. Supervisor Mike Bartock said anyone interested in serving should call the municipal building at 724-564-9715.

Bartock said the vacancy was created due to the death of a former board member.

To serve on the municipal authority, a person has to be a township resident and must be connected to the sewer system.

In other matters, supervisors said the township has plenty of salt and anti-skid in stock to treat icy roads.

“We’ll be able to tackle any winter storm that comes our way,” Bartock said.

The next township meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m. March 13.
