Leah A. Vail
Leah A. Vail, 72, of Hopwood, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2007, in the Uniontown Hospital. She was born July 28, 1934, daughter of the late Claude Artis and Gertrude Gribble.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Vail, Sr., and a sister, Darlene Gribble.
Leah had attained both a Bachelor’s and Master Degree from the California University of Pennsylvania.
She is survived by her children: David Artis and wife, Mary Jane of Uniontown, Bobby Lamar Sherman, Jr., Tamara Lee Hardy and husband, Keith, and Stacie Marie Sherman, all of Florida; two step-sons: Matthew Vail and Donald Vail, Jr.; nine grandchildren: David Artis and wife, Cindy, Stephanie Barton and husband, Bill, Thomas Artis, Suzanne Artis, Brenda Blanchard, Amanda Hardy, Joseph Alfred, Brian Hardy and Kristen Heidenreich; great-grandchildren: Christian Cody Diggs, Timothy Joe Ryker Kemp, Riley Artis, Samuel Artis, Billy Barton and Aidan Barton; brothers and sisters: Gilbert Gribble of N.Y., Edna Carol Murfello of Ohio, Joseph Gribble of Ohio, Vicki Hartsek of Uniontown, and Thomas Gribble of Wash.; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends will be received in the DOLFI FUNERAL HOME, Uniontown, on Friday evening from 5 to 8 p.m., and on Saturday, February 17, 2007, from 10 to 11 a.m., the hour of the service with the Rev. Art Mace officiating.
Interment will follow in the Oak Lawn Cemetery.
