Donald F. Clark
Donald F. Clark , 81, of Davidsville, Pa., died February 5, 2007 in Laurel View Village. Born January 21, 1926, in Johnstown, Pa., son of Frank A. and Marie (Weitz) Clark.
He was preceded in death by parents, sister, Mary Jo Helsel, brothers, Francis, Robert, Walter, William and Rev. Richard D. Clark.
He is survived by loving wife of 57 years, Mary (Glancy) Clark; children: Robert “Bob” married to Kathleen (Irwin) of Johnstown, Pa., Margaret A. “Peggy” married to Dr. Joseph Goberni, of Connellsville, Pa., Mary Pat married to Timothy J. Sheridan, North Topsail Beach, NC; Anne married to R. Vance Schrey, Johnstown, Pa.; 11 grandchildren; James, Joseph, Brigid, Erin, and Maureen Sheridan, Patrick, Mary Kate, Colleen, Nora, and Jack Schrey and Maura Clark; brother, John married to Rita (Pohl) Clark, Johnstown; sister-in-law, Rita Bischof Clark; and also numerous nieces and nephews.
Donald graduated from Johnstown Catholic High School in 1943. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, 4th degree, All Saints Assembly Council 467, Gunner’s mate in the US Navy, serving in W.W.II on the U.S.S. La Vallette, battles of Luzon, Lingayen Gulf, Subic Bay, Bataan, Corregidor, Mindanao.
He was the owner of Clark’s Dairy Store in Morrellville for many years and owner and operator of Clark’s Corner Store, Southmont, from 1972 to 1993.
A longtime member of Our Mother of Sorrows Church where a Funeral Mass was Celebrated 11 a.m. on Friday, February 9, 2007, with the Very Rev. Paul E. Turnbull, VF.
Friends were received 2 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, February 8, 2007 in the FRANK DUCA FUNERAL HOME, Westmont Chapel, 1622 Menoher Boulevard, Johnstown, Pa., 15905, (814-539-5634).
Committal was in Grandview Cemetery where Military Graveside Rites were performed by Menoher Post 155 Ritual Team.
