Catherine ‘Kaye’ Salopek Pyzdrowski
Catherine “Kaye” (Salopek) Pyzdrowski, age 74, of Masontown, Pa., died on Wednesday, February 14, 2007, at home. She was born on February 23, 1932, in Masontown, Pa.
“Kaye” was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Saint Mary Roman Catholic Church, Leckrone, Pa.
She graduated from the now former Masontown High School.
She had been employed with the Fayette County Housing Authority for over 20 years and retired from Second National Bank of Masontown after 22 years.
Her father, Melie Salopek, her mother, Catherine (Rupon) Salopek Zalac, and stepfather, John Ivan Zalac, preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Thaddeus M. Pyzdrowski, a brother, Michael Salopek, two sisters, Mary Lou Oblak and Agnes Zubal, and a niece, Pamela Sewalish.
Left to cherish her memory are her step-son, Anthony Pyzdrowski and his wife, Laura, and their son, Wade, all of Uniontown, Pa.; two brothers: Paul Salopek and his wife, Dorothy, of Willoughby, Ohio, and John Zalac of Masontown, Pa.; beloved friend, Norma Honsaker of Uniontown, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., 515 North Main Street, Masontown, Pa., today from 2 to 5 and 6 to 9 p.m. and on Monday, February 19, 2007, until 10:30 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.
A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Saint Mary Roman Catholic Church, Leckrone, with the Rev. Father Donald Trexler as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Leckrone, Pa.
