Gladys M. (Verbus) Patrick of Connellsville, Pa., passed away while sleeping peacefully on Friday, February 16, 2007, daughter of the late Frank and Elsie Verbus of Uniontown, Pa. She is survived by her husband, Richard Patrick, and they shared a great love story and life together.

Gladys was a brilliant businesswoman and was the CEO of Richard Chevrolet Inc. and Patrick Dodge Chrysler Inc. of Connellsville.

She also received the distinct honor from General Motors Corporation in 1986 as being the first female Chevrolet Franchise dealer in Southwestern Pennsylvania.

An inspiration to everyone she met, Gladys fought the complications of diabetes with courage, optimism and strength and she spread her joy to every person in her life.

A beautiful mother, loving wife, loyal friend, talented singer and, most of all, an amazing human being, Gladys touched people with her tenacity, her personality and her generosity.

Gladys is survived by two children, Richard Brian Patrick and his wife, Jacqueline, of Uniontown, Pa., and Andrea Lynn (Patrick) Forte and her husband, Fabian, of Connellsville, Pa.; a sister, Lucille Robison, and two brothers, David Verbus and Robert Verbus.

Gladys was blessed with many close friends in her life whom she considered to be part of her own family. She was always known as “Momma G”, “Mrs. P”, Mom, Grandmom or Great-Grandma G, names given to Gladys by those who loved her.

She touched many of our lives in different ways. It would take us years to say. She was a special angel to all that knew her well and to all of us this is a very difficult farewell.

Gladys Patrick is the true meaning of beauty.
