Ruth L. (Cover) Fretts, 100, of Masontown, Pa., died Sunday, February 18, 2007, in the Coville Personal Care home, Masontown, Pa. She was born January 3, 1907 in Nicholson Township, Pa., daughter of the late Ellsworth and Anna Cover Fretts.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Walter E. Fretts.

Ruth delivered packages for the postal service during the war and also worked for several families over the years doing home care and served on the Nicholson Township Election Board.

She was a member of the Fairview Church of the Brethren where she was very active as church clerk, Sunday School teacher and pianist for 46 years.

She celebrated her 100th birthday on January 3, 2007 with two parties at the Coville Personal Care Home. The first one for the staff and residents of the home at 1 p.m. and the second for 50 friends and church family at 7 p.m.

Friends will be received in the BERNARD M. TOWNSEND FUNERAL HOME, 220 South Main Street, Masontown, Pa., today, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday in the Fairview Church of the Brethren from 10 until 11 a.m. the hour of service with the Rev. Ed Houghton and the Rev. Homer Marshall co-officiating, and Louie Diamond.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
