Sophia (Massrock) McCann, 95, passed away February 16, 2007.

Born in Pottstown, Pa., to Charles and Helen Massrock on June 26, 1911, she later moved to New Geneva, Smithfield, Pa., near Uniontown. There she met David Lloyd “Mac” McCann. They married and found work in the Canton, Akron area where they lived most of their lives. She retired from the offices of BF Goodrich and then worked several years for the Akron Credit Bureau. She and Mac loved to entertain and garden, canning many of their fruits and vegetables.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Charles and John, and sister, Mary Vidovich.

She is survived by sisters: Anna Popilock of Drexel Hill, Pa., Helen Hanson of Kensington, Md., Bertha Mulvey of Wilmington, Del., Thersa Massrock of Kensington, Md.; many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Friday, February 23, 2007, at 2 p.m., in the BACHER FUNERAL HOME, 3250 Greenwich Rd., Norton. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Further services will be held in the Masontown Mennonite Church in Masontown, Pa., on Saturday at 11 a.m., with visitation one half hour prior to service time.

Interment will be held in the Greendale Cemetery in Masontown.
