Dorothy Irene Hanon Maskarine
Dorothy Irene Hanon Maskarine, 57, of Masontown, Pa., went to be with our Heavenly Father on Thursday morning, February 22, 2007, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She will always be remembered for her generosity and giving heart.
She was a homemaker and worked for many years taking care of elderly and disabled patients. She always put others needs before her own. She gave her life to the Lord and she was Baptized and also served as a Stewart at the Revere Free Methodist Church.
She was born July 5, 1949, in Uniontown, Pa., and was raised in McClellandtown, Pa.
She was preceded in death by her second husband, John S. Maskarine, Sr., her mother, Sarah Cassidy Hanon, her father, Samuel Hanon, her grandson, Colby James Cole, her brothers, John, Frank, Freddie, Silent “Duck”, Clark Hanon and a niece, Brenda Isler.
Left to cherish her memories are her first husband, George Gundersen; her four children: Laura Cole and her husband, Jack of New Salem, Lynda Riffle and her husband, Bill of Woodside, George Maskarine of Masontown and John Maskarine and fianc?, Mary Campbell of Uniontown. She adored her grandchildren: B.J. Riffle, Rachel Wyland, Cameron and Colton Cole; three sisters: Annabelle Umbel, Lucinda Osborn, Betty Hanon; one brother, Robert Hanon; and many loving nieces, nephews and close family friends.
Our mother will be missed deeply but we will rejoice knowing that we will all be together again in Heaven.
Friends will be received in the JOHN S. MAYKUTH, JR. FUNERAL HOME, corner of Church and River Avenue, Masontown, Pa., on Sunday, February 25, 2007, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Monday until 8:30 a.m. when a funeral service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dale Sickles officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Macrina Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa.
