Carol L. Hignett Seliga, 60, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away suddenly on Monday morning, February 26, 2007, in her home. She was born April 13, 1946, in Connellsville, Pa., the daughter of Mildred McLaughlin Hignett of Reading, Pa., and the late John Hignett.

Carol was employed for many years at the former Hills Department Store and recently at the Nickman’s Drug Store and for the past three years was a devoted and loving grandmother that took great pride in watching her beautiful granddaughter, Blake.

Carol is survived by her mother, Mildred; her beloved husband, John R. Seliga; her loving and devoted children, Carla DiMatteo of Uniontown, John T. Seliga and wife Kristie of Hopwood, Cristy L. Seliga of Uniontown and Jamie D. Seliga and John Weaver of New Salem; her nine grandchildren whom she cherished, Heather Alborg, Tori Kozak, Seth Kozak, Julie Dean, A.J. Dean, Marra DiMatteo, Julie DiMatteo, Blake Seliga and Julia Weaver. She is also survived by brothers and sisters, Nancy Fisher and husband Ralph of Hamburg, Pa., Doris Hignett and husband Warren of Reading, Pa., Vida Passion and husband Steven of Reading, Pa., and John Hignett of Reading, Pa.; several loving nieces and nephews, cousins and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Frank and Sherry Seliga.

Friends will be received in the KEZMARSKY FUNERAL HOME, 71 Pennsylvania Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., on Wednesday, February 28, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday morning, March 1, 2007, until 10 a.m. the Hour of Service with the Rev. Galen Winebrenner officiating.

Interment follows in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
