Uniontown man faces trial on cocaine charges
All charges against a 20-year-old Uniontown man accused of selling crack cocaine in Uniontown last year were held for Fayette County Court Tuesday following a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Mark L. Blair. Easton J. Carr, a.k.a. Money, of 77 Dunlap St. was charged with possession of cocaine and delivery of a controlled substance following a sting operation by members of the Fayette County Drug Task Force last January.
Task Force Officer Ryan Reese said he and two other officers received information from a confidential informant on Jan. 4, 2006 that crack cocaine could be purchased from a man known then only as “Money.”
Reese said officers had the informant contact Carr by phone and arrange a purchase.
A short time later, Carr arrived at a location on Gallatin Avenue around 8:25 p.m. and sold .64 grams of cocaine to the informant with undercover officers, including Reese, watching from several vantage points.
Reese said he was not more than 15 feet from the transaction, as he walked on the sidewalk during the sale.
Less than an hour later, Reese said the informant again arranged a purchase from Carr and added that a second sale was made in the street near where the first transaction was made.
This time, Reese said Carr sold the informant 1.5 grams of cocaine.
