Millicent R. Smitley Churray

Millicent R. Smitley Churray, 77 of Dunbar Township, went to be with the Lord on December 31, 2006, with her loving family by her side. She was born June 30, 1929, in Tower Hill 2, a daughter of the late Peter and Jane (Reed) Smitley.

She was protestant by faith. Millicent was a homemaker most of her life. Earlier, she was employed at the Keystone Fireworks Plant in Dunbar and Anchor Hocking Glass in Connellsville. Millicent enjoyed flower gardening and feeding the hummingbirds.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Jack, P.C., and Don Smitley, a sister, Agnes J. Smitley Maher, two infant sisters, Aubrey and Sarah Margaret Smitley, infant brother, Charles Donald, and nephew, Charles R. Maher.

Left to cherish her memories is her husband of 56 years, Lawrence S. Churray; her children: Nancy M. Hartman and husband, Bill, and Pam Basinger and husband, David A.; two grandchildren: David L. Basinger and Michelle L. Basinger all of Dunbar; a brother, Tom Smitley and wife, Vi of Uniontown; a sister, Mildred DeBlasio of Butler, Pa.; several nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law, and two special pets, Moe and Koko.

Visitation was held on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m., and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., in the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME, INC., 418 North Pittsburgh Street, Connellsville, a funeral service will be held today at 10 a.m., with Rev. Lee Maley officiating.

Interment will follow in the Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown.
