Elizabeth T. “Libby” Zavora
Elizabeth T. “Libby” Zavora, 82, of Balsinger, Pa., formerly of Amend, died on Thursday, January 4, 2007, in the Mount Saint Macrina Manor Nursing Home, Uniontown Pa. She was born on December 22, 1924, in Vestaburg, Pa., daughter of Andrew “Micik” Mitchick and Elizabeth (Varga) Mitchick.
Her parents, husband, Thaddeus B. Zavora, daughter, Rita Zavora Brungardt, and many brothers and sisters preceded her in death.
Libby was a member of Saint Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church, Saint Mary’s Confraternity of Christian Mothers, and the Golden Club, and she volunteered her time to Saint Vincent DePaul Store, Uniontown, Pa., for many years.
Left to cherish her memory are three children: Monica Lumsden and husband, Wayne of Springfield, Va.; Thaddeus “Ted” D. Zavora and wife, Angela of Fairfax, Va..; William Zavora and wife, Monique of Peloluma, Calif.; a brother, Michael “Futsie” Mitchick of Portland, Oregon; and many sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 603 North Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown, Pa., on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Monday, January 8, 2007, until 9:15 a.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m., in Saint Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Micah E. Kozoil as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in the Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa.
The Parish Wake Service will be held on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
Saint Mary’s Confraternity of Christian Mothers will recite the Rosary on Sunday at 7 p.m.
