Jack Robert Clister
Jack Robert Clister, 86, of Allison, Pa., died Tuesday, January 2, 2007. He was born on September 20, 1920, in Uniontown, Pa., son of the late Chester Robert and Mary Elizabeth Crider Clister.
He was a member of Saint Andrew’s Lutheran Church of Brownsville, Pa. and formerly council member of the church. Veteran of World War II serving 27 months in the Southwest Pacific Theater of Operations with the Battery A, 475th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion, lifetime member of VFW post 47 of Uniontown, Pa. He was a retired manager with the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board.
He was predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Ruth Volpin Clister, two sisters, Elsie Haney, and Elaine Riffle.
He is survived by three sons: Dave Clister and wife, Marti of Pittsburgh, Pa., Gary Clister and wife, Mary Teresa of Carbondale, Pa., and Ron Clister and wife, Meaghan of Brownsville, Pa.; nine grandchildren: Jackie, Terri, Ashley, Steven, Rosanne, Sara, Aaron, Luke and Anna Sophia; several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park Street, Brownsville, Pa., where a funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Jack E. Hernstrom officiating.
Interment will follow in the LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
Full military rites will be accorded by the VFW Post 47, Uniontown
