James Edward Laing
James Edward Laing, 44 of Uniontown, died Wednesday, January 3, 2007. He was born June 12, 1962, in Mesa, Arizona.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Walter Laing and Betty Fee Frazee Laing.
James was a mechanic having retired from Hess Automotive in Pittsburgh, Pa., after 26 years, he was a member of Cabelas Walleye Association where he won many awards.
He enjoyed camping, fishing, boating and picnics with his family.
He always held his family close in his heart and was always his brother’s keeper.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, father-in-law, godfather and friend.
Surviving are his loving wife of 26 years, Susan Elizabeth Shaffer Laing; four children: Melinda Laing and her fianc?, Kenneth Riggin and Teri and John Lynch all of Uniontown, Tina and Sgt. Philip Rhodes of Fort Drum, N.Y. and Uniontown and Lawrence Hettenschuller, Jr. of Fredericksburg, Va.; six grandchildren: Nathaniel Riggin, Adain Lynch, Arista Rhodes, Devin Rhodes, Anthony Hettenschuller and Kaylee Hettenschuller; three god-children: Deanna Niacker, James Chrise and Alana Hettenschuller; two brothers: Steve Laing of Uniontown, Pa., and Chris Rosano of Lemont Furnace, Pa.; and four nieces: Dawn Laing, Stephanie Laing, Nicole Rosano and Miranda Rosano.
Friends will be received in the JEROME W. SHELL FUNERAL HOME, 164 South Mount Vernon Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., this evening from 7 to 9 p.m., and on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. a funeral service will be held at 8 p.m., with the Rev. Keith Conover officiating.
A later interment will be held in the Oak Lawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the family.
