Albert J. ‘George’ Slivo (Sliwa)
Albert J. “George” Slivo (Sliwa), 89, a lifelong resident of Phillips, Pa., passed away suddenly on January 4, 2007. He was born on April 20, 1917, in Phillips, Pa., a son of Joseph and Katherine Slivo.
His parents, wife, Agnes (Marchinchin) Slivo, brothers, Joseph, Jr., Kaiser and Sam Slivo preceded him in death.
Albert was a member of Saint Joseph Roman Catholic Church and was a retired barber. He proudly served his country during World War II in the United States Army.
Albert was a beloved uncle and great-uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 603 North Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown, Pa., on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Monday, January 8, 2006, until 9:30 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in Saint Joseph Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Douglas E. Dorula, his great-nephew, as Celebrant.
Interment will be held in Saint Joseph’s Cemetery, Hopwood, Pa.
