Josephine C. Gaydosh Stavischeck
Josephine C. Gaydosh Stavischeck, 77, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away on Friday, January 5, 2007, in the Mercy Jeannette Heartland Hospice Hospital, Jeannette, Pa., after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born on November 13, 1929, in Leisenring, Pa., daughter of Joseph and Mary (nee Tarcala) Gaydosh.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Thomas R. Stavischeck, Sr., brothers, Andrew, John, Joseph, Paul Gaydosh and sisters, Anne Nere, Margaret Staso, Sophia Staso Sliva and Helen Taylor.
Josephine was a member of Saint Peters Lutheran Church and a graduate of Dunbar High School, class of 1946. For many years she was employed with Eddie’s Fruit Basket of Uniontown.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Deborah Stoner and husband, David of North Huntingdon, Pa., Thomas R. Stavischeck, Jr. and wife, Shannon of Lansing, Mi.; three grandchildren: Daniel Stone and Thomas and Andrew Stavischeck; special nieces, Carol L. Kafalas and husband, Chris and Patricia Corella all of Uniontown; and many other nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 603 North Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown, Pa., on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Monday, January 8, 2006 until 10 a.m. when a Prayer Service will be held.
The funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m. in Saint Peter’s Lutheran Church with the Rev. Bernard J. Carl officiating.
Interment will be held in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa.
