Gerard F. “Jerry” Maher, age 62, of Uniontown, Pa., died Friday, January 5, 2007, in the Uniontown Hospital. He was born January 19, 1944, in Uniontown, Pa., the son of Jerry and Helen Kelly Maher.

“Jerry” was a member of Saint John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church.

He was the former General Manager of the Uniontown Coca-Cola Plant and was a member of the Uniontown Volunteer Fire Department, the Uniontown Ambulance Corps and the Uniontown B.P.O. Elks Lodge 370.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Rita Batley and Mary Lynn Rosser.

Surviving are his wife, Susan Hill Maher; two sons: Jerry Maher and his wife, Denise, of Butler, Pa., and Roger C. Maher and his wife, Jill, of Canonsburg, Pa.; four grandchildren: Mia, Nicholas, Luke and Owen Maher; and a brother, Tim Maher and his wife, Mary, of Tuscon, Arizona.

Friends will be received in the JEROME W. SHELL FUNERAL HOME, 164 South Mount Vernon Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., today (Tuesday, January 9) until 9:30 a.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 10 a.m. in Saint John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 50 Jefferson Street, Uniontown.

Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Memories Mausoleum at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to be made to the Parkinson Disease Chapter of Greater Pittsburgh, 6507 Wilkins Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15217.

Visitation was also held Monday from 3 to 9 p.m.

Uniontown Volunteer Fire Department held services in the Funeral Home on Monday evening at 7:30 p.m.
