Veronica Yash Cavalcante
Veronica Yash Cavalcante, age 86, of McClellandtown, Pa., passed away suddenly on Saturday, January 6, 2007, at home. She was born on February 4, 1920, in Leckrone, Pa., the daughter of Joseph and Catherine Yash.
Veronica was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and also a great cook, homemaker and talented seamstress.
She was a lifetime member of Saint Francis DeSales Chapel of All Saints Roman Catholic Church, McClellandtown, Pa., and a member of The Confraternity of Christian Mothers.
Her parents, a daughter, Arlene Cavalcante, and many brothers and sisters preceded her in death.
Left to cherish her memory are: her loving husband of 58 years, Joseph F. Cavalcante; a daughter, Maxine Cavalcante of McClellandtown, Pa.; two granddaughters: Laura Hackney and Marlene Ansel and her husband, Dave, all of Masontown, Pa.; three great-grandchildren: Arlene Hackney, David Ansel and Jacob Ansel; a brother, Albert Yash and his wife, Josephine, of Edenborn, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., 515 North Main Street, Masontown, Pa., today (Tuesday, January 9, 2007) until 10 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.
A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 10:30 a.m. in Saint Francis DeSales Chapel, McClellandtown, Pa., with the Rev. Father James F. Bump as Celebrant and the Rev. Father James M. Butler as Concelebrant.
Interment will follow in Saint Mary (Our Lady of Perpetual Help) Cemetery, Leckrone, Pa.
Visitation was also held Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
The Confraternity of Christian Mothers recited the Rosary in the Funeral Home on Monday at 3 p.m.
Parish Wake Service was held in the Funeral Home on Monday at 3:30 p.m.
