William Irvin Beals

William Irvin Beals, 79, of Centreville, Va., died Tuesday, January 2, 2007. William attended the Brownsville Senior High School. He enlisted in the United States Navy and served as a Motor Machinist 3-C Third Class in the Pacific Theater when the Japanese surrendered. He was employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad as a locomotive engineer. He attended the California Teachers College earning a B.S. degree in secondary education. He was employed by the Arlington County School System for 30 years. He received a Masters degree in education administration from the Maryland University, and he was a private pilot.

William is survived by his wife, Mae Palo Beals; sons: Craig D. Beals, and William G. Beals and wife, Kristin; grandchildren; and a sister, Marlene Fortuna.

Friends will be received in the Skirpan Funeral Home, 135 Park Street, Brownsville, Pa., on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where funeral services will be held on Saturday at noon.
