Woman assaulted
State police at Belle Vernon said a Brownsville man will face charges of simple assault and harassment after he allegedly hit Margaret Scott of Brownsville in the right eye in the parking lot of Georgio’s, 751 High St., around 2 a.m. Wednesday.

Truck stolen
Jeffrey Allen Carson, 34, of Everson told state police at Belle Vernon that his 1989 Chevrolet truck was stolen from 249 Brown St. around 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, police said.

Crash reported
State police at Greensburg said Beth Ann Knobel, 38, was uninjured in a one-vehicle car accident on Ankney Hill Road at 2:25 p.m. on Tuesday. Police said a passenger in the vehicle, William Richard Knobel, 40, also was not injured.

Robert N. McIntyre of 422 Market St., Belle Vernon, told Southwest Regional Police that someone threw feces on the road where he parks his vehicle between 5 a.m. and 5 p.m. Wednesday, police said.

In 2006, the office of Fayette County Sheriff Gary D. Brownfield transported 902 prisoners 73,768 miles during 2006.
His office received 5,901 requests for service during the year.
Among those services were 1,122 complaints and summons, 377 landlord and tenants/order for possessions, 491 protection-from-abuse orders, 889 mortgage foreclosure complaints, 397 foreign writ services, 240 personal property executions, 31 writs of possession, 170 real estates sales, services or postings and 257 miscellaneous service requests.
Additionally, requests for 2,320 gun permits, both new and renewal were processed and 88 bench warrants were served.
Members of the sheriff’s office logged 1,968 hours at each the courthouse and the public safety building providing security last year.
An additional 290 hours used for miscellaneous security and 436 hours was used for community relations programs.
Brownfield listed $282,376.26 in funds forwarded to the county and $103,629.41 in funds for services not reimbursed to the county during 2006.

Crash reported
State police said the driver and passenger in a vehicle that crashed on Duck Hollow Road at 3:20 a.m. Jan. 5 sustained minor injuries. Police identified the driver as Amanda Marchewka of Connellsville and the passenger as Gregory Moore of Uniontown.

Sign damaged
State police said a state Department of Transportation message board was knocked over, and a blinking light on a stop sign was broken on Route 381 between Monday evening and Tuesday morning.

Accident reported
State police said Jeanine R. Hurt, 39, sustained moderate injuries in a two-vehicle accident on Dinnerbell Road around 2:15 p.m. Wednesday. Police said the other driver involved, Harry J. Cole, 22, was uninjured. Farmington Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.

Car damaged
Lorie E. McCourt, 20, of Lake Lynn told state police at Waynesburg that someone threw white paint on her car while it was parked outside of a Schoolhouse Road home around 1:30 a.m. Thursday, police said.

Charges pending
State police said charges are pending against a Uniontown man who had marijuana and a smoking pipe in his car while it was parked at Laurel Highlands High School around 8:18 a.m. Thursday.
