Jesse L. Leasher

Jesse L. Leasher, 89, of Republic, Pa., and formerly of Clairton, Pa., passed away Thursday, January 18, 2007, in Uniontown Hospital. He was born July 21, 1917, in Brier Hill, Pa., a son of John Leasher and Ada Moss Leasher.

Jesse was a retired foreman from United States Steel’s Clairton Works, a member of the National Steelworkers Old-timers Foundation and the United Steel Workers of America.

He was predeceased by a grandson, Kenneth Leasher, six sisters, two brothers and his parents.

Surviving are his children: Shirley Hartman and husband, Wilbur of Vienna, Va., Jesse Leasher and wife, Beth of Jacksonville, Fla., Kenneth Leasher of Cleveland, Ohio, Beverly Battaglini of Republic, Pa., Terry Leasher of Oklahoma, Audrey Genest of Woodbridge, Va., and Nancy Bogol and her husband, Ron of East Millsboro, Pa.; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters: Dorothy Paes and Marion Childs; and a brother, Leroy Leasher and his wife, Mary.

Friends will be received in the ROBERT T. KISH FUNERAL HOME, INC., ONE LEGION STREET, REPUBLIC, Pa., on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Monday until 11 a.m. the hour of Service with Pastor H. David McElroy officiating.

Entombment will follow in Chapel of Peace Mausoleum in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
