Wilfred A. “Hezz” Cowell, Sr., 79, of Roscoe, Pa., died January 19, 2007. “Hezz” served as Fire Chief at the Roscoe Volunteer Fire Department from 1976 to 1980 and 1982 to 1986. He was employed by Corning Glass for 12 years and by Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Allenport plant as a Pipe Fitter. He served with the United States Army in the Pacific Theater.

Surviving are his wife, Veronica Mislo Cowell of Roscoe, Pa.; daughter, Carol Cowell of Stroll Acres and a son and daughter-in-law, Wilfred and Bonnie Cowell of Roscoe; one granddaughter; nephews; great nieces, great nephews and care givers.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday in the Ed Melenyzer Funeral Homes, Inc., Roscoe, Pa., and until 1 p.m. on Monday.
