William Bolish Jr.

William Bolish, Jr., age 92, currently of McMurray, Pa., and formerly of Uniontown, Pa., died Friday, January 19, 2007. He was born January 17, 1915, in Leisenring, Pa., the son of William Bolish Sr. and Mary Szakacs Bolish.

William graduated from the now former North Union High School with the class of 1934.

He served with the United States Army during World War II as a cook in the Pacific Theatre.

He was a bricklayer by trade and a member of Local Union No. 9.

William was a member of the Third Presbyterian Church where he served as an usher, was a cook in the kitchen and also a member of the dart ball league.

He was also an avid hunter and gardener.

He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers, Louis, Joseph, Bertie, Wilhelm, Elmer, Ernest and Arthur Bolish, and three sisters, Irene Bolish, Matilda Shimko and Mary Bryner.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Bertha Wilma (Welsh) Bolish; five children: William Wallace Bolish and his wife, Jo Ann, of Penn Hills, Pa., Judy A. Chiappino and her husband, David, and Mary Ellen Fritz and her husband, Martin, all of McMurray, Antionette Calabrase and her husband, Tony, of Lyles, Tennessee, and Joanne Anderson and her husband, James, of Pleasant Hills, Pa.; two brothers: Edward Bolish of Hampton, Virginia, and Francis Bolish and his wife, Adele, of Pembrook Pines, Florida; two sisters: Olga Liebel of Wellington, Florida and Jane Benelli and her husband, Leo, of Novato, California; and seven grandchildren: Michael Calabrase, Ryan Chiappino, Jason Chiappino, Aliecia Anderson, McKenzie Fritz, Maura Anderson and Madison Fritz.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, Pa.

The family received friends in the Funeral Home on Sunday, January 21, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Visitation will continue in the THIRD PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 425 Union Street, Uniontown, Pa., today (Monday, January 22, 2007) from 11 a.m. until noon followed by a celebration of his life at noon with the Rev. Christopher Enoch and the Rev. William Rodahaver co-officiating.

Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown.

Full Military Rites will be accorded at the cemetery.
