Richard ‘Dick’ Raymond Krichbaum

Richard ‘Dick’ Raymond Krichbaum, 76, of Smithfield, died Tuesday, January 23, 2007, in the Uniontown Hospital. He was born January 10, 1931, in Smithfield, Pa., son of the late Philip Krichbaum and Emma Belle Clark Krichbaum.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Evelyn Louise Arison Krichbaum, his son, Raymond Lloyd Krichbaum, sisters, Gladys Kelly and Mary Voithofer and brothers, Robert Krichbaum and Elmer Krichbaum.

He was a United States Army veteran serving in Korea during the Korean Conflict as a Sergeant.

Dick was employed for many years as a heavy equipment operator.

He was a member of the UMWA District 2 local 1310 and a member of the AMVETS Post 103 of Hopwood, Pa.

Surviving are his wife, Pearl Lorraine Wingrove Murphy Krichbaum; five children: Lee Fitzwater and wife, Veronica of Ronco, Pa., Helen Louise Krichbaum of Edgewood, Md., Curtis Glen Krichbaum and wife, Ellen of Fairchance, Pa., Kristle Lynn Krichbaum, and Devon Renee Krichbaum both of Smithfield, Pa.; stepchildren: Gregory Alan Murphy and wife, Linda of Difance, Ohio, Patrick J. Murphy and wife, Brenda of Orange, Texas, Sherri Lynn Glisan and husband, Todd of Uniontown, Pa.; four grandchildren: Sherry, Erica, Doranda and Jerome; brother, Henry Krichbaum of Wheaton, Md.; and sisters: Loretta ‘Dolly’ Callahan of Creagerstown, Md., Agatha Cristoff of Masontown, Pa., Mildred Oravets of Woodside, Pa., Veda Angel and husband, Albert of Continental 3, Pa., Dorothy Janesko and husband, Dick of Smithfield, Pa. and Arlene Lowe and husband, Ken of Youngstown, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa., on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Saturday, January 27, 2007, from 11 a.m., until 1 p.m. Services begin at 1 p.m., with the Rev. James B. Jobes officiating.

Interment will follow in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Smithfield, Pa., with military rites being accorded by the AMVETS Post 103.
