Elizabeth Hovanec Spalek
Elizabeth Hovanec Spalek, age 89, of Uniontown, Pa., died on Saturday, January 27, 2007. She was born on June 5, 1917, in Adelaide, Fayette County, Pa., the daughter of Andrew Hovanec and Maria (Vrobel) Hovanec.
She was a member of Saint Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church.
Her parents, husband, Joseph R. Spalek, sisters, Ann, Margaret and Irene, and brothers, Andrew, Steve and George, preceded her in death.
Surviving are her children: Nancy Oris and her husband, John, of Uniontown, Pa., Ray Spalek and his wife, Carol, of Colonial Heights, Virginia, Connie Spalek of Uniontown, Pa., and Larry Spalek and his wife, Iris, of Jupiter, Florida; eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; also numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., 603 North Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown, Pa., on Tuesday, January 30, 2007, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, January 31, 2007, until 9:15 a.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. in Saint Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church, North Mount Vernon Avenue, with the Rev. Father Micah E. Kozoil as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Saint Mary (Nativity) Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa.
The Parish Wake Service will be held in the Funeral Home on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m.
