Stephen Tretinik
Stephen Tretinik, age 91, of Prospect, Pa., and formerly of Ralph, Pa., passed away Saturday, January 27, 2007, at his residence. He was born June 10, 1915, in Smock, Pa., the son of George Tretinik and Bertha Onifer Tretinik.
Stephen was a member of Saint Christopher of the Lake Roman Catholic Church in Prospect, Pa., a United States Army veteran who served in World War II and a member of the American Legion Post 423 in Masontown, Pa.
He was formerly employed at United States Steel’s Robena Mine.
Stephen was preceded in death by six brothers, two sisters and his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Ziots Tretinik; a son, Steven Tretinik and his wife, Delilah, of Alpena, Michigan; four daughters: Elaine Boyd and her husband, James, of Uniontown, Pa., Janet Sirilla and her husband, Paul, of Dublin, Ohio, Maryann Tretinik of Monroeville, Pa., and Renee Kline and her husband, Timothy, of Butler, Pa.; fourteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received in the ROBERT T. KISH FUNERAL HOME INC., 20 NORTH MILL STREET, NEW SALEM, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, January 30, until 11:30 a.m. when a Prayer Service will be held.
A Funeral Mass follows at 12 Noon in Saint Procopius Roman Catholic Church, New Salem, Pa., with the Rev. Father James L. Popochock as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa., where Military Rites will be accorded by the Masontown Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4584.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Steve’s name may be made to Saint Christopher of the Lake Church, Prospect, PA 16052 or to Hospice VNA of Butler, PA 16001.
A Parish Wake Service will be held today at 3:15 p.m.
