Victoria Shebora Orsini
Victoria Shebora Orsini, age 99, of Haymarket, Virginia, and formerly of Filbert, Pa., passed away Saturday, January 27, 2007, at the home of her daughter, Pauline Nordstrom. She was born May 6, 1907, in Fayette County, Pa., the daughter of Frank and Antonia Shebora.
She was a member of Saint Procopius Roman Catholic Church in New Salem and the Gold Star Mothers.
Until a few years ago, Mrs. Orsini lived in Filbert in the same house for over sixty years. She loved working in her yard and being surrounded by the community of long-time friends!
She enjoyed good health and independence for nearly a century and leaves a legacy of faith, strength and perseverance to her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ubaldo Orsini, a son, Leon Orsini, who was killed in action in World War II, and five brothers and sisters.
She is survived by three daughters: Clara Cuteri of Kingstowne, Virginia, Pauline Nordstrom and her husband, Allen, of Haymarket, Virginia, and Virginia Muzidal and her husband, Stanley, of Vienna, Virginia; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and three sisters: Lenora Crewell of San Jose, California, Clara Beck of Silver Spring, Maryland, and Henrietta Jones of Elizabethtown, Pa.
Friends will be received in the DEARTH FUNERAL HOME, 35 South Mill Street, New Salem, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, January 31, 2007, until 9:30 a.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 10 a.m. in Saint Procopius Roman Catholic Church, New Salem, with the Rev. Father James L. Popochock as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa.
Parish Wake Service will be held in the Funeral Home today at 2:30 p.m.
