Jan. 30, 2007 Police to hold inspection
State police at Waynesburg are conducting a free child restraint checkup from 2 to 4 p.m. Feb. 13 at the Franklin Township Fire Hall on Willow Road. Parents can have their child restraints checked for recalls and learn proper installation. Certified child restraint technicians from the state police will assist with installation.
Kindergarten visit set
Champion Christian School will host a kindergarten visit day from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Friday.
Parents and children that are entering kindergarten in the fall are invited to come and enjoy a story and an activity, snack, as well as take time to explore the classroom. Parents may preview curriculum materials, as well as ask questions.
Those interested should RSVP by calling 724-455-2122 ext. 100, or e-mail info@champion.org. Those who cannot attend can call to request an information packet that includes a DVD. Appointments can be made to tour the facility and visit the classroom on an individual basis.
Champion Christian School is a program of the Christian Family & Children’s Center. The kindergarten is located at the South Campus in Indian Head. CCS has free bussing to six surrounding school districts including.

Band planning breakfast
The Connellsville High School Mighty Falcon Marching Band will hold a pancake and sausage breakfast from 7 a.m. until noon Saturday at Connellsville Church of God, located at the corner of Breakneck Road and Falcon Drive. Adults pay $5, seniors and children 2 to 12 years old pay $2.50, and children under 2 years old eat for free. Proceeds will benefit the band transportation fund.
