Mary Anna Gera Rohaley R.N.
Mary Anna Gera Rohaley R.N., 71, of Streetsboro, Ohio, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2007. Mary Ann was born on September 10, 1935, in Allison Number 1, Pa., to the late John and Mary (Matanin) Gera.
She was a graduate of Redstone High School in Redstone, Pa. and then graduated from Saint John’s College in Cleveland, Ohio where in 1957 she earned a Bachelors Degree in Nursing. Mary Ann married John G. Rohaley from Grindstone, Pa., son of Michael and Mary (Pachuta) Rohaley on July 13, 1957 and had a wonderful marriage until John’s departure on April 22, 1997.
Mary Ann worked as a Nurse Supervisor for the Hattie Larlham Foundation in Mantua, Ohio until her retirement, was a member of the Streetsboro Quilting Guild and was a founder of the St. Joan of Arc Church in Streetsboro, Ohio.
Mary Ann is survived by her five children, Barbara Ann (John) Cowling, Mary Ann (David) Kopcak, John (Amy Eicher) Rohaley, Michael Rohaley all of Streetsboro and Kristi (Scott) Robison of Rootstown, Ohio; her eight precious grandchildren, Gretl, John & Theodore Cowling, Tara Robison, Megan and Daniel Kopcak and Haley & Grace Rohaley; sisters, Sonja (Jerry) Chapala of Hoffman Estates, Illinois, Georgette Gera of Allison Number 1, Pa., Jean Mangini of Brownsville, Pa.; brothers, John (Joyce Dargi) Gera of Ligonier, Pa. and Theodore (Barbara Geisel) Gera of Grindstone, Pa. Mary Ann has many relatives in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Alaska, California, Arizona and other states.
Calling hours will be at Shorts Funeral Homes, Inc., 9781 Page Road, Streetsboro, Ohio 44241, on Wednesday, January 31, 2007 from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m., with a Rosary Service at 8 p.m. Final viewing will be held at 9 a.m., Thursday, February 1, 2007 at Shorts Funeral Homes, Inc. Mass of Christian burial will follow at 10 a.m. Thursday at Saint Joan of Arc Church in Streetsboro with Father Pat Ferraro as Celebrant.
Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Streetsboro, Ohio.
