Emma E. Miner
Emma E. Miner 86, of Point Marion, Pa., passed away in her home after a lengthy illness on Tuesday, January 30, 2007, with her loving family at her side. Born December 7, 1920, in Stewartstown, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Oliver Blosser and Matilda Rotharmel Blosser Brown.
She was a loving homemaker, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother with a passion for music, sewing, quilting, crocheting, gardening, floral arranging, cooking and baking. A charter member of the Fallen Timbers Community Chapel, she actively served on numerous committees in the church, including Church Historian for several decades, and treasurer of the Ladies Missionary Society for many years.
Left to cherish her memory is her beloved and devoted husband of 62 years, Harold Miner, who she married August 29, 1944; seven children and their spouses: Sharon and Barry Hawthorne of Lake Lynn, Pa., Judy Sandor of Lake Milton, Ohio, Joyce Miner of Point Marion, Keith and Susan Miner of Gans, Pa., Nita and Danny Rhodes of Point Marion, Don and Brenda Miner of Fairchance, Pa. and Carol and Tadd Kezmarsky of Uniontown; 14 grandchildren: Lori Groover, Richard, Bryan, and Kevin Hawthorne, Krista Grope, Michael and Eric Sandor, Melissa Whitman, Keith Miner, Amy Rhodes, Jake and Kate Miner, Andrea and Sean Kravats; eight great-grandchildren, Sharon, Anne and Benjamin Groover, Lainie and Emma Grope, Ryan Hawthorne, Nathan and Natalie Whitman; two step-great-granddaughters: Angela and Mallory Whitaker; and her much loved brother, Donald Blosser of Port Charlotte, Fla.
Friends will be received in the Richard R. Herod Funeral Home, Point Marion, on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m., Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Saturday in the Fallen Timbers Community Chapel from 10 to 11 a.m., the hour of service, with her pastor, Rev. Scott Teets officiating.
Interment follows in Mount Moriah Baptist Cemetery, Smithfield, Pa.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be offered to the Benevolent Fund or the Ladies Missionary Society, both of the Fallen Timbers Community Chapel, % Michele Howard, Church Treasurer, 508 Outcrop Road, Smithfield, Pa., 15478, or the Albert Gallatin Hospice.
