Drugs, money found during search

1 min read

According to Fayette County Assistant District Attorney Mark D. Brooks, Fayette County Drug Task Force served a search warrant at a Pershing Court apartment in Uniontown around 8:30 a.m. Saturday. Inside the residence where three women and one man were asleep, officers located 35-40 grams of cocaine with a street value of $3,500, several bags of marijuana and five different types of pills. In addition, a fully loaded .380-caliber handgun with a round in the chamber, an additional $2,000 in cash and a digital scale with suspected cocaine residue was found in close proximity of the drugs.

Brooks said authorities expect to make one arrest and possibly more in connection with the search warrant, charging the suspect or suspects with seven counts of possession, possession with the intent to deliver and criminal conspiracy.

Brooks said the task force has been investigating the sale of drugs from this particular unit for a period of time, using different investigative techniques.

Brooks said the investigation was conducted by Detective Ryan Reese.
