Public meeting scheduled

The Chestnut Ridge Chapter of Trout Unlimited (CRTU) and its project partners will sponsor a kickoff meeting for the Dunbar Creek Corridor Assessment and Prioritization project at 6:20 p.m. Thursday, July 12 at the Dunbar Borough building. CRTU and its project partners invite anyone interested in obtaining more information about the project or anyone who wants to offer input to attend.

The upstream project boundary is the junction of Limestone Run in Dunbar Borough that extends down to the junction with the Youghiogheny River in Dunbar Township.

The overall goal of the proposed project is to conduct a comprehensive stream corridor appraisal that will:

– Accurately identify channel instabilities and habitat deficiencies

– Prioritize the delineated stream reaches with respect to future repairs

– Provide relatively detailed preliminary rehabilitation prescriptions and cost estimates for the identified highest priority stream segments.
