Mrs. Shutsa, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunt, ad friend, passed away on Monday, July 2, 2007, in Ohio. She was born in Sunshine, Pa., on March 14, 1913. Masontown became her lifelong home when she met and married her one and only love, John who preceded her in death.
Stella was an active member of the All Saints Christian Mothers. Her favorite activity was working outdoors in her yard and garden, but her most appreciated skill was her ability to cook. Just a dab of this and a pinch of that and the dish was fabulous. She was an excellent homemaker. Along with her playful sense of humor, she could be counted on to be there for anyone who needed a meal, a visit, or a word of encouragement.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving son and daughter-in-law, John and Mary Jean Shutsa of Akron, Ohio; daughter, Marie (Kornfeld) Shutsa of Painesville, Ohio and daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Jack Bradshaw of Longview, Texas. Also surviving Stella are two brothers, Tony Malinsky of Lumberton, N.C. and Walter and sister-in-law Sally Malinsky of Virginia Beach, Va. “Grandma” loved her 12 grandchildren, John (Chris), Cathy (Michael), Michael (Kelly), Sharon, Stacey, Rick (Patricia), Terry (Chuck), Jack (Janet), Beth (Bo), Art (Tracy), Bill (Ann), and Jeff (Jill), as well as her 31 great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren.
The family wished to thank the doctors and nurses at Lake West Hospital, Willoughby, for the compassionate care they gave Mrs. Shutsa as well as her Mentor Way Nursing Home “family”. Thank you also, to all those who prayed, visited, loved, and supported her during some of the most trying months of her life. We take much comfort in the truth that our mother is now beyond all the pain and heartache of this life and is now safe and happy in the everlasting arms of her Savior, Jesus. Love You Forever, Mom.
