He… Russell F. (Sonny) Grimm, 73, of Smithfield, Pa., passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2007, in Donnell House, Washington, Pa.
He was born in Bowood, Pa., on August 13, 1933, son of the now late Russell F. and Leona Jobes Grimm.
Russell was a member of the Operating Engineers of Columbus, Ohio. He worked at McKinney Drilling Company, Texas, for 15 years, H & M Foundations, New York, for six years and Nemacolin Mine.
He thoroughly enjoyed life and his hobby “hunting” and his dog, Buffy.
He is survived by his wife, Jane Clark Grimm; one daughter, Dianne Patterson and husband, Ted of Smithfield, Pa.; one son, Russell E. (Rusty) Grimm of Hampton, Va.; several nieces and nephews; along with special family members, Norbert Porupski of Smithfield and David Meloy and wife, Vanessa of Ohio; three grandchildren: Michael Meloy and wife, Merilee, Becky Rae and husband, Ron Kotch all of Ohio, and Coty Liston of Smithfield; five great-grandchildren: Nicholas, Adam, Sammi, Ryan and Ellayna all of Ohio; one brother, John Grimm and wife, Judy of Smithfield and a sister, Sandy Wolfe of Kokomo, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, S. Joan Meloy, one sister, Ruth DeVincent and one brother, D. Mark Grimm.
The family will receive friends in the JOHN F. BROWNFIELD FUNERAL HOME, of Smithfield, Pa., today, July 6, 2007, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m.
Private services will be held for Mr. Grimm and burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Masontown.
