Waste dumped

Atlas Energy Resources LLC of Uniontown reported to state police that someone dumped waste water and sewage in sump pits at various gas well sites in Dunkard Twp between 6 p.m. May 14 and 7 a.m. June 8. Cash stolen

Paul and Wanita Crayne of Waynesburg reported to state police that two men entered their residence on Jefferson Road, Franklin Twp., and distracted the couple while a third person entered the house from the rear and stole cash around 12 p.m. June 22. The two men told the couple, who are both in their 90s, that they were opening a store in Waynesburg and unrolled a 4×6-foot piece of linoleum, blocking the couple’s view, police said. A third person then entered the house through a back door and stole cash from the couple’s bedroom, police said. The two men left the house about 15 minutes later, police said. They are described as white males in their mid-30s, with dark hair and short, thin builds, with one clean shaven and the other having a short-trimmed black beard, police said.

Identity stolen

State police arrested and charged Matthew Matiyasic, 25, of Waynesburg, with two counts of forgery, a third-degree felony, and one count each of identity theft and theft, first-degree misdemeanors, after he allegedly used the personal information of a 33-year-old Waynesburg man to establish a credit card account on May 24, police said. Citibank reported a $1,793.13 loss concerning the identity theft, police said.

DUI arrest

Scott Russell Kramer, Jr., 39, of Carmichaels, was arrested for DUI after a traffic violation on Route 1011, Jefferson Twp., at 7:55 p.m. June 24, police said.

Inmate escapes

State police are searching for Ronald Ansell Paith, 26, of Carmichaels, after he failed to return to the Greene County prison on Rolling Meadows Road, Franklin Twp., after work release at 6:30 p.m. June 29, police said. Paith is a black male, 5’5″ and 167 pounds, police said.

Two cars crash

No injuries were reported after a two-vehicle crash occurred on Route 218 at Greenwood Petroleum, Franklin Twp., at 2:08 p.m. June 28, police said. According to police, a 1988 Oldsmobile Cutlass driven by a 17-year-old Spraggs male was traveling at a high rate of speed south on Route 218 when he struck the back of a 2001 Isuzu boxtruck driven by Gail Bierer, 38, of Dilliner. The teen’s car left the road and struck a tree, sustaining moderate front-end damage, police said.

Two cited

Timothy Newill and Pamela Chambers, both of Waynesburg, were cited by state police for public drunkenness after causing a disturbance on Lippencott Road, Morgan Twp., at 1:25 a.m. June 28, police said.

Woman harassed

Paul Grim, no address given, was cited for harassment after he made repeated phone calls to a Greensboro woman and made threatening statements on July 2, police said.

Items stolen

State police are investigating last month’s burglaries of Creekside Kitchen, Whipkey’s Laundromat and the Unity Presbyterian Church of Graysville, Gray Twp. Someone forcibly gained entry into the locations and removed various items, including money, tools and an Acer laptop computer, police said.

Three-car crash

Four people were injured after a three-car crash occurred on Route 188, Jefferson Twp., at 7:45 p.m. June 25, police said. A 2002 Volkswagen GTI driven by Donald Forman, 51, of Rices Landing, was traveling west on the road, failed to negotiate a right curve and traveled across the center lines, police said. Forman’s car sideswiped a Chevrolet Cavalier driven by Nancy Hunyady, 54, of Carmichaels, and continued west, impacting the front of a 2005 Mercury Montego driven by Erika Maskil, 29, also of Rices Landing, police said. Forman’s car then continued west while rotating counterclockwise, police said. According to police, all three vehicles were severely damaged, and Forman and Maskil reported injuries, while Hunyady and her 11-year-old passenger reported minor injuries. Police were assisted at the scene by Jefferson VFD and EMS Southwest.

Car crashes

Jennifer Pollock, 57, of Clarksville, reported injuries after the 1999 Ford Explorer she was driving failed to negotiate a left curve on Marianna Road, Morgan Twp., struck an embankment and rolled onto its right side at 5:55 p.m. June 25, police said. Police were assisted at the scene by Clarksville VFD and EMS Southwest.

Gas stolen

Someone pumped 5.64 gallons of gasoline into a vehicle at the Allstar Express, Carmichaels, and fled the scene without paying at 7:09 p.m. June 25, police said.

Woman charged

Mary Phillips of Spraggs was charged with harassment after she allegedly argued with and assaulted a Spraggs man at their residence on Calverts Hill Road, Wayne Twp., at 11:50 p.m. June 29, police said.
