TICKET SALE – Members of the New Freeport VFD will be selling tickets to raffle off a 2008 Suzuki 700 King Quad or a 2008 Honda 680 Rincon at the Waynesburg Giant Eagle on Friday, July 6, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and at their annual bake sale at the Greene County Courthouse on Friday, Aug. 10. Tickets will also be available on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month at the fire hall from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. The winner will be determined by the Big Four nightly drawing on Oct. 31.       CAR WASH – The Oak View United Methodist Church Youth Group will host a car wash and hot dog sale on Saturday, July 7, at Hinerman’s NAPA from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

      VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL – Aleppo Brethren Church will hold its Vacation Bible School July 9 to 13 from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

      GREENE COUNTY DAY – Tickets are now on sale for Greene County Day at Kennywood Park, sponsored by the Waynesburg Area Chamber of Commerce and WANB Radio. The event will be held on Tuesday, July 10. Buses leave Waynesburg at 9 a.m. and will leave the park at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. Tickets are on sale in the Chamber office and will be on sale until the morning of the event.

      CHURCH PICNIC – The First Baptist Church of Waynesburg will hold their annual church picnic at 6 p.m. July 11 at the Lions Club Park in Waynesburg. Bring a covered dish to share. Additionally, the church will host a concert, featuring professional trumpeter Chiz Rider, at 7 p.m. July 15 at the church located at 303 W. High St. in Waynesburg.       BUSINESS SEMINARS- The Small Business Development Center recently announced the following events. July 13: “The First Step: Mechanics of Starting a Small Business.” The workshop is free and open to the general public. July 27: “The Second Step: Developing A Business Plan.” There is a fee for this workshop. Both seminars will be held from 7:30 to 10 a.m. at the University of Pittsburgh’s Mervis Hall.       REUNION PICNIC – The 8th annual Sterling Faucet Reunion Picnic will be held on Saturday, July 14, from 12 to 5 p.m. at the Marilla Park Pavilion in Morgantown, W.Va. All former Sterling Faucet employees and a guest are urged to attend. Please bring a covered dish. A buffet-style dinner will be served at 1 p.m. Door prizes will be awarded, must be present to win.       SUMMER CAMP – The 21st Century Community Learning Center’s summer camp program is being held every Monday through Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., until Wednesday, July 25, at all five county school districts. The camp is open to students who completed kindergarten through eighth grade in the past year.
